Consultations for Mental Health Professionals
Considering a Move Abroad?
Welcome! I’m Rachel, an art therapist and licensed professional counselor with a deep commitment to helping mental health professionals like you explore career opportunities beyond U.S. borders. Transitioning your practice internationally can open up exciting possibilities, but it also comes with unique challenges. With my experience guiding professionals through this journey, I’m here to make the process smoother, clearer, and aligned with your goals.
Is Relocating Your Practice the Right Step? Key Factors to Consider
If you're thinking about taking your practice abroad, there are several critical areas to consider. During a consultation, we’ll discuss these points and how they apply to your unique situation:
-
Non-Country-Specifics for Running a Private Practice While Abroad
-
Countries and Visas
-
Employment Logistics
What You’ll Gain from a Consultation
When you book a consultation with me, we’ll dive into these important details and more. Together, we’ll review:
-
Licensing and Credentialing Requirements – Understand what it takes to practice in your chosen countries or to continue your current practice while living abroad.
-
Visa Options and Requirements – Explore visa pathways that meet your career needs, whether you’re planning to work or simply want the option to reside abroad.
-
Legal and Ethical Standards – Get guidance on meeting ethical standards in your new country.
-
Adjusting Your Role to Fit International Requirements – Identify changes you may need to make to work comfortably and compliantly abroad.
We can cover approximately three countries per session, helping you compare and identify the best options for your lifestyle, career, and aspirations.

Start Your Private Practice with Confidence
Thinking about starting your own private practice but feeling overwhelmed by the process? You’re not alone. Building a sustainable and fulfilling practice requires more than just clinical skills—it takes business know-how, strategic planning, and an understanding of legal and ethical requirements.
I offer private consultations to help mental health therapists navigate the complexities of starting and growing a private practice in the U.S. Whether you're transitioning from agency work, expanding your side practice, or launching from scratch, I provide personalized guidance tailored to your unique goals.
Topics We Can Cover:
✅ Legal & Ethical Considerations – Licensing requirements, informed consent, telehealth regulations, and more.
✅ Insurance vs. Private Pay – Understanding credentialing, billing, and setting fees.
✅ Marketing & Branding – Attracting your ideal clients and building an online presence.
✅ Practice Management – Setting up EHR systems, scheduling, and HIPAA compliance.
✅ Work-Life Balance – Avoiding burnout while growing a sustainable practice.
Who Is This For?
-
Therapists who want to leave agency work and become their own boss.
-
Clinicians looking to transition from W-2 to 1099 work or build a hybrid practice.
-
Mental health professionals seeking a roadmap for private practice success from someone who’s been there.
How It Works
Consultations are one-on-one, 60-minute virtual sessions designed to answer your questions and help you create a clear, actionable plan. If you only have a few topics to discuss (3-5) we may be able to cover it all in one consultation. If you are brand new to private practice and need or want additional assistance we can do more than one consultation. You can think of this as being very similar to business coaching. Not sure where to start? Book a consultation, and let’s map out the best path for your practice.
